I heard about Wolfe and Wine Co.’s Wine Dinners through a coworker last year. She raved about the event telling me how fun and exciting it was and that I must attend one. On Friday, December 20th I experienced my first Wolfe and Wine dinner and it was SPECTACULAR! The warm welcome, the ambiance, the setup, the transformed space, the beautiful guests, the surprise rooftop concert featuring Brad Basker and the Texas size servings of the wines. This event was first class all the way!
Now, the wine!
The first wine of the night was 69 Miles Chardonnay:
Color: Medium lemon
On the nose: Butter and oak, tropical and citrus fruit.
Palate: Tropical and citrus fruit flavors, bright acidity, mineral characters, with a crisp finish.
Paired nicely with Crab Cake Trio!
Franklin Vines Review: This traditional Chardonnay was balanced with light tropical notes, very easy to drink, perfect for socials and definitely went the full 69 miles.
The second wine of the night was Peter Paul Pinot Noir, Sonoma Coast:
Color: Pale ruby
On the nose: Red fruits
Palate: Red berries with long finish
Paired well with the Twinkie Trio!
Franklin Vines Review: Peter Paul Pinot Noir definitely didn’t come to play! He showed up and made a big and bold presence!
The third wine of the night was the 1858 Cabernet Sauvignon by Caymus Vineyards.
Color: Deep ruby red
On the nose: Oak and spice
Palate: Fruit forward, bold tannins, oaky, spice, dark berries, long finish
Paired well with the filet mignon trio!
Franklin Vines Review: This Napa Valley beauty was exquisite! From the first sip, you understood why Caymus is one of the most popular brands in Napa Valley.
The final pairing of the night was the dessert trio and White Chocolate White Russian. How perfect to end the night!
Huge shout out to the amazing Chef Daniel Wolfe and his team along with Chef David Cordua and his team!
Cheers until next time!
